The purpose of this research was to identify the vocabulary and semantic field of transportation from the perspective of children aged 10-11 years. We choose these age group because the child in this phase are capable of determining and distinguishing objects. The word transportation is chosen because it is widely understood and familiar with children aged 10-11 years. Initial research conducted on 18 children aged 7-12 years showed that a more accurate definition of the word transportation was found in the questionnaire results of children aged 10-12 years. Although the transportation theme has been introduced in class III textbooks, children aged 7-9 years cannot provide exact definition for the word transportation. The data of this research was gathered from definition of transportation written by children aged 10-11 years. The respondents were children aged 10-11 years in public elementary schools in Depok. The research method used was mixed method by Cresswell (2012). The research technique used was a questionnaire. Data was analyzed using the AntConc application and UCREL Semantic Analysis System (USAS). Data were analyzed quantitatively using Ant. Conc application. Ant. Conc application is used to assess the frequency of the vocabulary. The data was then analyzed qualitatively, namely by classifying data into the field of meaning using USAS Category System. To classify these words into USAS Category System, Kamus Besar Bahasa Indonesia fifth edition is used to determine the meaning of the words. The results showed that the vocabulary in transportation domain consisted of various semantic fields, namely means of transportation, activity, place, location and direction, driver, material/condition to support transportation, and circumstance.
