Abstract

Website user interfaces are crucial for e-businesses. There is a need for a deeper understanding of the user interface elements to maintain the sustainability of businesses, especially concerning generations X and Y as the target market. This study explores the relationship between user interface elements and generation preferences using in-depth interviews and questionnaires. The primary objective is to obtain invaluable insights into user preferences of e-business especially e-commerce websites and to evaluate the preliminary designs revealed from interviews with experts. Two hundred respondents from generations X and Y participated in the study. The results show a high level of alignment between users and user interface design recommendations from experts based on generations X and Y characteristics. The final recommendations can be used as a reference for e-business in developing their websites.
