Abstract

A study was performed on ultrafast optical nonlinearity in thin films containing poly(methyl methacrylate)(PMMA)-TiO2 nanocomposites. The thin films were synthesized by a simple technique of sol-gel/polymerization. Transmission electron microscopy showed the presence of 5-nm-diamater particles in the film. It was found that the observed optical nonlinearity had a recovery time of ∼1.5 ps.
