abstract = "Gain profile of bidirectional pumped distributed Raman amplification with various forward and backward pump power ratio is investigated. An application for repeaterless ultra-long span transmission on conventional standard fiber is examined. Numerical simulation shows a good transmission performance can be achieved by carefully adjusting forward pump to operate on low pump power ratio. Simulation result and performance analysis of 10 Gb/s RZ-ASK transmission over 400 km distance is presented.",
