Abstract

Introduction: Parkinson’s disease is the most frequent type of parkinsonism, and the second most frequent disease after Alzheimer’s dementia. Autonomic dysfunction in parkinson’s disease has the signs and symptoms associated with gastrointestinal, urinary, sexual, cardiovascular, thermoregulation and pupillomotor abnormalities.
Aim: To attain a valid and reliable SCOPA-AUT instrument in Bahasa Indonesia.
Methods: Validity test to evaluate validity based on transcultural study of WHO. Reliability tes to evaluate reliability of test-retest with kappa test in a cross-sectional study that included a total of 50 patients that has been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. Result: SCOPA-AUT INA instrument is found to be valid on all items. On reliability test-retest, kappa scores varied between items. Kappa score for gastrointestinal domain was 0.81-1.00, for cardiovascular domain was 0.90-1.00, for pupillomotor domain was 0.96, for sexual domain was 0.80-1.00 and for additional questions was 1.00. In overall, Kappa score of SCOPA-AUT INA was 0.94. Conclusion: SCOPA-AUT INA is a valid and reliable (Kappa 0.94) instrument to be used as in assessing autonomic dysfunction in Parkinson’s disease.
