Abstract

Chordoma is a low-to-intermediate-grade malignant tumor encapsulating the notochord. It is rare, insidious in onset, and frequently diagnosed late. Due to its size, location, and nature, surgical treatment becomes challenging. Here we report a case of sacral chordoma in a 33-year-old woman treated with a combined anterior and posterior approach to remove the tumor enbloc, followed by posterior stabilization using rod- screw system. Total sacrectomy and spinopelvic reconstruction is the treatment of choice for sacral chordoma. We were able to achieve complete resection of the tumor mass with no recurrence after six months of follow-up.
