Abstract

Trimaran is a type of multihull vessel with low resistance, good stability and better motion than monohull vessels. The effect of variations in the distance of side hull L transverse and longitudinal to the total resistance of asymmetric trimaran model ships was determined by experimentation. The lowest resistance value, the configuration and S / L, R / L ratio are carried out. The result of wave interference is also observed. The results of the study experimentally showed that the variation of the sidehull L distance transversely and longitudinally had a significant effect on the resistance of the trimaran model ship. The effect of the position of the side hull L with the optimal transverse distance will provide the lowest wave interference in the relative position of the middle longitudinal.
