Abstract

A project called System to Augment Non-speakers' Dialogue using Puns (Standup) to solve the problem of conversational fluency due to lack of practice, is discussed. The program provides an interactive user interface, specially designed for children with limited motor skills, through which a child can create simple jokes by selecting words or topics. The user interface displays three main areas, namely, the general navigation bar, the joke-selection menu, and the progress chart. The project is expected to help realizing practical application of computational humor, and wider application of computational humor in educational settings.
