Abstract

Good quality of sperm is required to achieve fertilization. Sperm undergo biochemical and biophysical changes during the journey in male as well as in female reproductive tracts such as capacitation and acrosome reaction process. Otherwise, fast and progressive motility of sperm is important concerning to reach out for ovum. One of significant changes to conduct these processes is certainly ions concentration changes in reproductive tracts as well as available ATP molecule as energy source for motility. Flux of ions and ATP in the sperm membrane will be supported by the presence of variety ion channels in the plasma membrane and also in mitochondrial membrane. Ionic microenvironmental changes and efflux ATP can induce finally kind physiological sperm function
