The Relationship of Social Activities Factors to the Behavior of Slum Residents in Jakarta regarding Family Planning

Abstract

This study aims to determine and explain the relationship between social activity factors and the behavior of slum residents in Jakarta regarding family planning. This study uses a mixed method. Cross-sectional quantitative method using a questionnaire to look for factors related to the behavior of families living in North Jakarta slums regarding family planning. Qualitative method is carried out by in-depth interviews to obtain specific information about family planning. The study was conducted from April to June 2019. The number of samples studied in this study was 70 people. The behavior of families living in slums in North Jakarta regarding the FAMILY PLANNING program is low and the only related factor is social activities. The results of in-depth interviews found that social activities that were influential were the interactions of residents sharing experiences during activities.
