Abstract

This article explores the impact of online news frame effects and news topics on Political trust of political actors in government by taking case study of West Java province (governor and vice governor as political actor). This research takes the concept of framing according to Capella and Jamieson that about the effect of news frames by issue and strategic to political trust. As for the concept of belief adopt the concept of some experts, but the research indicator adopted the concept according to Seung Yong Rho in Trust in Government. This research also use indicator that used by some experts in his research in the field of political trust as according to Mayer, Davis and Schoorman McKnight (1995). The indicators and also the dimensions used by Soh (2009) can also be used in political communication research on some previous studies, although his concept usual using in advertising. This research usespositivistic paradigm with quantitative approach and experimental method.Independent variable in this research are news topic and online news frame, the dependent variable is political trust. The result of this research shown that there are no effect of online news frames and online news topics against political trust.
