Abstract

We synthesize and characterize La0.73Ca0.27Mn 1-xCuxO3 with 0<x<0.19 to understand the influence on its structural and magnetic properties. Characterization of the structural properties of the La0.73Ca0.27Mn 1-xCuxO3 compound was performed. The Neutron High Resolution Powder Diffractometer measurement shows that the materials at room temperature are single phase and crystallize in the orthorhombic Pnma space group. At low temperatures, the magnetic moments order ferromagnetically with decreasing magnitude order as x increases. The unit cell volumes at low temperature are smaller than those at room temperature.
