title = "The Effects of Rooftop PV Penetration on Utility Power Producers – A Review",
abstract = "Rooftop Photovoltaic (PV) is one of the renewable energy technologies that is increasing in development and use in the world in supporting the energy transition with the aim of leaving the use of fossil energy to use clean renewable energy (zero carbon emission). This change certainly has a positive impact on the environment. However, this energy transition process also has an impact on other factors. One of the factors is in the electricity business at the current utility power producers. This paper provides an overview of several studies that address the effects of rooftop PV on the utility power producers. The most significant effect is the influence on electrical financial structure of utility power producers which could impact on their life of electricity business, then could resulting utility death spiral effect. The effects must be a concern for policymakers of all countries throughout the world that are conducting energy transition, so that the transition can proceed smoothly, and utility power producers do not suffer a negative impact because of this change.",
