Abstract

The pain and limited range of motion is a major problem that often arises in patients with Osteoarthritis. Osteoarthritis is a chronic disease that is not known with certainty the cause but is characterized by loss of joint cartilage in increments. Osteoarthritis a disease that develops slowly, it usually affects the peripheral joints and skeletal axial diarthrodial. The disease is characterized by destruction and loss of articular cartilage which results in the formation of osteophytes, pain, limited movement, deformity, and disability Neuromuscular Taping (NMTD is one method of therapy with the principles of biomechanical stimulation of compression and decompression to obtain a positive effect on musculoskeletal, neurology, vascular and lymphatic systems. NMT application level effects on the muscles can improve muscle tone, increase muscle contraction, reduce the excessive muscle contraction, stabilizes fascia, reduce pain, and improve joint movement. Objective: This study aimed to look at the effect of the installation of Neuromuscular Taping against LGS decrease in pain and an increase in cases of osteoarthritis. Method: This study is a quasi-experimental using pre-test and post-test without control group design to analyze the effect of NMT applications in osteoarthritis patients. The pain was measured by VAS (Verbal Analog Scale), with a score runs is 0-10. The pain was measured before and after application of NMT. The the knee joint before and after application of NMT. NMT interventions are done 3 times. Result: Deruction pain which was assessed by VAS and increased scope of motion before therapy and after therapy 3x Conclusion: Application Neuromuscular Taping on knee with double fan and posterior knee osteoarthritis condition can relieve pain and improve knee ROM on flexion.
