N1 - Funding Information:
Health services for the community also became a major concern, especially after the geriatrics curricula were developed (health promotion and disease prevention in the community setting were also included). Community-based geriatric services were organized by conducting training for volunteers of PUSAKA (which stands for Pusat Santunan dalam Keluarga, a day care center for the elderly totally funded and run by volunteers and the community). Training was also conducted for doctors and nurses in the primary health centers of Jakarta as access to healthcare providers by the community were developed through the primary health centers of the Department of Health. The training was funded by AusAID (the Australian government’s overseas aid program). 11
