Abstract

The main function of transmission system in a vehicle traction system is to flow power from the engine to the driving wheels. By using an integrated engine control, which in electric vehicles whose engine is generally in the form of an induction motor, the manual transmission system can be automated. Clutch and synchronizer can be removed from the transmission system thus reducing high friction components and increasing system's lifetime. By estimating the transmission torque and then controlling it to zero using vector control, clutch's function to disconnect the power flow can be replaced.
