Abstract

This chapter contains several synthesis methods to produce graphene polymer composites with high filler content (>50wt%). The classification is made from the perspective of the nanostructural filler rather than polymer processing point of view, that is, scaffold impregnation and filler mixing. The best method to fabricate one, two, and three-dimensional (1D, 2D, and 3D) composite fiber, film, and foam, respectively, is outlined and discussed. Recent development of graphene fiber and foam synthesis is also reported as a scaffold for graphene-polymer nanocomposites. The properties of graphene fiber are compared with the commercial carbon fiber. Meanwhile, a nacre biomimetic as the advanced method for 2D nanocomposite synthesis is described. The uniqueness of the high-filler graphene-polymer composites is described.
