title = "Study of the effect of different frequencies on the irradiance of dental LEDs using pulse width modulation",
abstract = "A light curing unit (LCU) is a device that serves to improve the condition of damaged teeth. It has a high irradiance value, which is feared to damage pulp and tooth tissue. In the latest technology for dental applications, a high-power light-emitting diode (LED) has been used for a dental LCU. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of a high frequency on the irradiance of LCU LEDs using pulse width modulation (PWM) methods. The PWM method is carried out by applying high and low frequencies to produce a desired LED irradiance. The result shows that there is no significant difference in the irradiance values of the dental LED between high- (f = 5 kHz and f = 2.5 kHz) and low frequency (f = 0.5 kHz) modulations. From the results, only the duty cycle greatly affects the irradiance output of the dental LED.",
