Abstract

The city is a settlement who has experienced by intensification land use area, this settlement areas development will form a pattern of the settlement and give the impact to the city that formed. Urban areas structure is a way for the formation arrangement of city parts. Tanjungpandan is a name of the subdistrict region in Belitung District, but having the characteristics of urban features in it , spatial plans of Belitung District said that Tanjungpandan will be focused become the epicenter of activities in Belitung District , this study aims to see the variation of social activity in Tanjungpandan City and visualized it into the city structure by using regional classification and categorization methods which used a regional delineation technique. The change of administration plan for Tanjungpandan to being a city also became the reason for the study is done, the changes that occurred are the implications from a society activity who live in the settlement areas, because of this dynamic process it is important to do an analysis for visualizing the form of the social activity, in order to improve the development planning of Tanjungpandan City. Result show that functionally Tanjungpandan Subdistrict already has a contemporary city structure, with the major activity in the city is marketing, then furthermore the result of delineation (City Structure) can be used as a detailed illustration of city areas to conduct further regional analysis in the future
