Abstract

Double perovskite Sr2FeMoO6 (SFMO) was successfully synthesized using the sol-gel method. All of the sample has been characterized by X-Ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transforms infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), and UV-VIS spectroscopy for knowing the structure properties of the material. XRD analysis revealed that the sample contain main phase (Sr2FeMoO6) and impurity phase (SrMoO4), which having a tetragonal crystal structure with I4 / mmm space group. The impurity phases appear due to the lower heating treatment during synthesize process. The FTIR spectrum confirmed that the absorption band was in the wavenumber range of 250-2000 cm-1, where the Fe / Mo-O peaks were in the range 427.52 cm-1. UV-VIS analysis shows that the double perovskite Sr2FeMoO6 material has two optical bandgaps (Eg) of 2.13 and 1.69 eV, which belong to SrMoO4 and Sr2FeMoO6 respectively.
