Abstract

This paper describes a modification of the full-order observer for the Sensorless IM Drive. The modified observer uses the rotor flux calculated by the flux model instead of estimating it, thus two of the four state equations can be removed. Implementation of the modified observer provides the performance improvement of the sensorless rotor flux oriented IM drive system. The validity of the modified observer is confirmed by experiments.
