Abstract

The South Jakarta area has a high number of television viewers so that the area has become one of the trial areas for digital broadcasting in Indonesia. However, the quality of digital broadcasts still needs to be evaluated. This study aims to provide a spatial distribution picture and analyze the spatial pattern of digital television signal services in the study area based on the characteristics of building density and building height to be optimally increased. This research used quantitative methods based on the results of the linear regression analysis test. This research used cluster sampling and using an instrument measurement Sat-link WS-6980 in 0.5 km x 0.5 km. The analytical method used is link-budget analysis, interpolation spatial analysis, and descriptive spatial analysis. This study's results are signal services with good quality signal found in low-density areas with sparse density. Then, signal services with awful quality are in low-density regions with height buildings areas. Based on the test results of linear regression analysis, the building density variable has an influence percentage of 18.6%; and the building height variable has a 6.2% percentage of influence on digital television signal services in the South Jakarta area.
