Abstract

Solid-state diffusion bonding of two ferritic oxide dispersion strengthened (ODS) alloys, MA956 and PM2000 is discussed. Joining was performed with material in the unrecrystallized fine grain condition with different substrate orientations with respect to the working direction. Post bond heat treatment (PBHT) was conducted to induce recrystallization in the bonds. Bonding occurred at unusually low stresses. Room temperature shear test results and bond fracture behavior are reported.
