Abstract

Introduction: The pulp stones are calcified mass in the pulp chamber and often present in teeth that have experienced trauma or injury. The pulp stones can cover part or all of the pulp chamber so that it can close access to the root canal. Case report: A 27-year-old man came to the Conservative Dentistry Clinic, Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Indonesia with a chief complain of severe pain in the upper left and right back teeth since last week. The patient experienced intermittent pain even though he has been taking pain killer medication. The radiographic examination showed the presence of stone-like formation in the pulp chamber that covers some areas of root canals in bilateral maxillary first molar. The precise combination of magnification and minimal invasive instrument will remove the multiple pulp stones entirely till the root canal treatment in this patient has done very well in single visit on each tooth. During 1-year follow-up, there was no more pain and cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) evaluation demonstrated good tissue healing. Conclusion: The successful treatment in a difficult endodontic case can be obtained through proper magnification and minimally invasive instruments.
