Abstract

The electromagnetic production of kaon has been studied by means of an effective Lagrangian approach. In this study the previous analysis has been extended from the photoproduction to the electroproduction process. We include electromagnetic form factors in the electromagnetic vertices for this porpuse. The Gaussian form factor is used since previous study has shown that the form factor could improve the agreement between model calculation and experimental data. All relevant nucleon resonances listed by the Particle Data Group have been included in this study. To evaluate the individual resonance contributions we exclude a specific nucleon resonance in the model and recalculate the χ2 in the fitting process. The result is compared with that obtained in the photoproduction process.
