National Institute of Aeronautics and Space is an organization that has the specific knowledge related to the aerospace sector, so it is important to preserve and manage its knowledge. Knowledge Management (KM) strategy can be formulated by identifying the current position of KM components in the institution. This study aims to determine the current condition of KM activities in the aerospace organization in order to formulate a strategy to bridge the gap between the current positions to the future objectives. Self-assessment method is used to determine the current KM activities and to identify the KM areas for the future improvement. SWOT analysis is used to formulate the KM strategy. The result of this study is thirteen strategies which are the management support and policy as the most priority to be done, the technical support as second ranks with consist of five strategies and the last one is human resources which consist of six strategies. The significance of this study is the use of self-assessment methods that show continuous and periodic individual assessments in KM activities. The results of this study are expected to provide input to management in making policy related business process.
