Abstract

Research on spatial distribution of Harmful Algal Bloom (HAB) species at green mussel (Perna viridis) farming area, Kamal Muara, North Jakarta has been conducted in May 2011. Samples were taken vertically at nine stations using plankton-net. The classes of HAB species found in this research were Dinophyceae (Ceratium furca, Dinophysis caudata, Gonyaulax polygramma, Gonyaulax spinifera, Gymnodinium catenatum, Gymnodinium sanguineum, Prorocentrum micans, and Prorocentrum sigmoides); Bacillariophyceae (Nitzschia spp., Chaetoceros spp., Skeletonema
costatum, and alassiosira spp.) and Raphidophyceae (Chattonella spp.). Based on isoplank map, the densest distribution in May 2011 was at stations near river mouth.
