Abstract

Multi Drug Resistant Tuberculosis (MDR-TB) or XDR TB is resistant TB Drugs to at least two (2) anti-TB drugs which are INH and Rifampin along with or with resistance of other anti-tuberculosis drugs such as ethambutol, streptomycin and Pyrazinamide. It is estimated that more than 55 % of MDR-TB patients have not been diagnosed or received treatment properly and correctly. The purpose of this research is to know the factors and pattern of Tuberculosis Resistance in Jakarta. Data were collected from 92 persons, which consist of 28 people with resistance and 64 people with TB. Direct interview obtained by face to face during December 2016 to May 2017 with ethical permission from the patient to interview the patient habits and the factors which suspected affecting resistance TB. Logistic regression analysis was performed to determine factors which responsible for the risk of resistance tuberculosis, since the variable were gender, education, nutritional status, open window habit, history of taking medicine, etc. The result showed that two variables which were the nutritional status and history of taking medicine were significant to tuberculosis resistant. Consider that, in treating tuberculosis, both the nutrition uptake and how the medicine was given are important.
