Abstract

Municipal solid waste (MSW) in almost every city grows as the city developed. Among many approaches to manage MSW problems, WaSte tO energy (WTE) program i.e. through building and running a landfill gas plant, is believed the best way since it deals with waste and energy problems Simultaneously. Even thought it offers undisputable benefits' in Indonesia WTE program implementation is stagnant. This study proposes an altemative financial model with resident Participation for WTE program A case study was taken place at City ofDepok, West Java Province. For the puxpose, the study used willingness to pay from Contingent Valuation Method to discIose the participation level・ The result is as much as 86% of Depok resident are willing to participate funding the prqiect with the participation range of 20,000 to 200,000 IDR per month. The PerCentage is even higher 88% if there is an incentive such as electricity bill discount to the Participants.
