Abstract

In this current era of globalization, innovative work behavior is regarded as crucial because it is useful in achieving competitive advantage and long-term organizational sustainability. Just as innovative work behaviors are considered important to organizations, another important issue is how leaders play a role in motivating innovative work behavior among the employees themselves. However, results of a literature review would show no direct influence of ethical leadership on employees’ innovative work behavior. The results of this study ensure that the research is conducted with the aim to re-examine the relationship between ethical leadership and innovative work behavior on other samples, particularly employees in a digital enterprise. Innovative work behavior was measured using Innovative Work Behavior Scale (2000), while ethical leadership was measured using the Ethical Leadership Questionnaire (2013). The sample of this study consisted of 217 digital enterprise employees who have worked with supervisors for at least three months. The analysis technique used is Pearson correlation. Results indicate a positive and significant relationship between ethical leadership and innovative work behavior among the employees of the digital enterprise (r = 0.44, p < 0.01).
