Abstract
The Indonesian Independence bring the roots of the history of Indonesian polity into the reality of new nation. Key part of this is the socio-democracy of the Pancasila. The term denote this historical polity, and the reality of post-independence of new nation. Thus, socio-democracy of Pancasila is the key framework of those. Indonesian founders paid attention on how new nation should enjoy the shared-wealth and shared-pursuit. The socio-democracy of Pancasila is both the basis and the end-point of shared-wealth and collective endeavour. In time, the socio-democracy of Pancasila has been intrepreted and habituated differently. It may not loose key characteristics of it, but the ways and means has been increaed in complexity. Thus, one may beg the explanation if sociodemocracy of Pancasila still the drive of Independece of Indonesia at present. Indonesian founders was very sure about what kind of shared-wealth and collective endeavour they projected to nations, yet, their experience was both of pre-globalisation (as we know it) and pre-internet-based life. Evenmore, the social-economic gap has been deepened which this pose a legitimate challenge to the socio-democracy of Pancasila. This article, then, first, will examine the context of sociodemocracy which, according to Sukarno, seeks political and economic accomplishment, state accomplishment and livelihood accomplishment. Second, this article would develop an interpretation socio-democracy for presents challenges. This is employing Gadamer's hermeneutic method. This method of “fustion of horizons” of Gadamer would try to understand the gap of time then and now, the gap of nation’s life then and now, and the gap understanding then and now.
