Quality improvement of printing output standard by setting combination

Abstract

Customer satisfaction is one of the reason for having customer loyalty. And for some industries, customer loyalty is one of important aspect for assuring business continuity. Printing industry is one of them, therefore a printing company needs to understand what is behind their customer satisfaction. Quality of printing can differentiate one printing company to others. Printing output of company profiles for instance, will reflect the company itself. In this research, quality improvement of printing output is the main topic, especially in magazine printing. Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) and Design of Experiments (DOE), i.e. Three-Factor Factorial Design are used as tools for designing and implementation of setting combination of magazine printing to improve the quality of printing output. The design obtained has been able to improve stability of print out quality standard, even time, material and cost saving, significantly.
