Some of the important characteristics of an e-library are electronic learning, supporting in information management, assisting in decision making relating to services and improving professional capacity. E-library has been studied in 2006, and it is necessary to look at the development again in 2012. The purpose of this study is to: study the usage of e-libraries in 2012, and compare the advancements from 2006 to 2012. Method that is used in 2006 and 2012 studies use similar conceptual framework to compare usage, acquisition and expectations. The study is divided into: phase I, a quantitative description, and phases II and III will be qualitative with a post-test only without control design, with usage data from student users and related officials, analysed by percentage and interpretation and association. In 2006 there was only 1 e-library: NM2DC, with a 14% usage rate, where as in 2012 there were three: NM2DC, LONTAR and Journal Centre. However in 2012 was used 52%. Reality, development and expectations of the three e-libraries is for the NM2DC to be re-established, and students also indicated that continuous maintenance and improvement in management and promotion with a modern management perspective was required, also E-Library needs to be developed, it’s must be used in new building at Medical Education and Research Centre that can be finished in 2016.
