Abstract
Awareness of personal safety for elementary school students in recent rapid information development is an important issue. This study aims to increase student’s awareness of their personal safety using psychoeducation consisting of sexual education and security in internet use. The subjects in this study were 54 students in an Elementary School in South Jakarta which were choosen using purposive sampling method. Data were collected using questionnaires given to participants before and after interventions and analyzed using Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. The result indicates that there is an increase in awareness of personal safety that can be seen from the improvement of their knowledge of reproductive or sexual anatomy and safe internet use. Based on the result, a systematic and tiered personal safety education is suggested to be introduced at every level of school.
