Bisa Dewek is a collaborative program between Indramayu farmers who call themselves the farmers group of plant breeder with the Department of Anthropology FISIP UI conducted in 2006-2007. Initiated by the UI, this cooperation program was originally created to record the academic studies of ongoing cultivation changes among the plant breeders in the Indramayu District. This paper, it aims to describe how farmers in the Indramayu District preserve and transfer knowledge using the SECI (socialization-externalization-combination-internalization) model proposed by Nonaka and Takeuchi. The research method used in the writing is a literature study of books and documentaries about Bisa Dewek. This paper is expected to produce an explanation of the process of preservation and knowledge transfer done in the program Bisa Dewek, which ultimately led to self-determination for the farmers of the Indramayu District, enabling them to become independent farmers. By doing so, they can remain independent of the large company providers of superior seeds, pesticides, and chemical fertilizers, which allows them to practice sustainable agriculture.
