Abstract
Objective: Analyzing the difference in knowledge levels of parents before and after reading an electronic book, “Trauma to the Primary Teeth”. Materian and Methods: Research was conducted at ten preschools in South Jakarta with 130 parents. Electronic books and questionnaires have been tested for validity and reliability through expert discussions, dentists, and parents outside the research subject. Assessment of the level of knowledge was carried out with a duration of 8 minutes and was intervened by reading electronic books with a duration of 6 minutes. Results: The median total knowledge score before and after reading electronic books was 14 (fair) and 17 (good). The Wilcoxon test (p value=0.001) showed a statistically significant difference in the knowledge levels of parents. Conclusion: There is a difference in the knowledge levels of parents before and after reading an electronic book, “Trauma to the Primary Teeth”. An electronic book, "Trauma to the Primary Teeth ", is an effective educational media in increasing the knowledge of parents of kindergarten school about trauma to children's primary teeth.
