N2 - Host-guest mechanism and the formation of inclusion complexes between β-cyclodextrin (BCD) with cholesterol as the electroactive species can indicate a non-enzymatic sensor of cholesterol. For that purpose, in this study, BCD functionalized on Fe3O4 magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) were synthesized by a simple co-precipitation method of Fe2+ and Fe3+ solutions under alkaline conditions for an easy separation. BCD/MNPs nanocomposite were characterized by XRD, TEM, and FTIR. The average size of MNPs and BCD/MNPs were 16.22 nm and 9.80 nm, respectively showed by both XRD and TEM. FTIR result also indicates that BCD/MNPs was successfully formed.
