abstract = "Calculation of paddy field area is necessary to know to predict a number of the paddy production in some region. In this paper, we proposed a system to predict paddy field area automatically based on aerial photography that collected using the multispectral camera. The multispectral camera is mounted on the wing of an integrated aircraft with GPS to provide position information of the resulting image. The multispectral images from the camera are then processed using texture segmentation. The threshold value is obtained by using Otsu method to convert the multispectral image into a binary image. Ground Sampling Distance (GSD) is computed by knowing the height of the aircraft flying and the field of view of the camera. GSD values can be used to calculate the area by multiplying by the number of pixels of each class. The system evaluation is performed by comparing the results of software processing with manual processing and calculated by confusion matrix. The accuracy of the system that has been made is 98%. This research was succeeded to make an automatic prediction system of paddy field area based on aerial remote sensing which the output is information of paddy field area.",
