Abstract
This research concerns the issue management that has been conducted during the process of DKI Jakarta Governor's election. The researchers chooseAnies-Sandi as an interesting object of research to investigate because their electability and popularity levels were the lowest in the early election period, but able to outperform their opponents and eligible for the second elections stage.. The research was onducted by observing the issue management process conducted by Anies-Sandi winning team and the use of social media twitter account @aniesbaswedan in supporting Anies-Sandi campaign activity in the first election stage of DKI Jakarta region. The researcher assumes that the Anies-Sandi's Winning Team uses the five steps models of Chase's Issue Management with an integrated approach.This research aim to analyze the issue management process and the communication strategy of Anies-Sandi. The research was a case study and adopts post-positivistic paradigm with a qualitative approach. The data collection techniques used are interviews and content analysis which conducted by analyzing tweets that posted on the candidate's social media account (Twitter), @aniesbaswedan from the period of 26th October 2016 to 11th February 2017. This research adopts post-positivistic paradigm with a qualitative approach. The data collection techniques used are interviews and content analysis which conducted by analyzing tweets that posted on the candidate's social media account (Twitter), @aniesbaswedan from the period of 26th October 2016 to 11th February 2017, with the aggregate of the tweet reached 351 tweets. Data analysis technique used is interactive model analysis. The result shows that the issue management activities conducted by the Candidate Anies-Sandi's Winning Team are not precisely similar to that of Chase's 5 steps which started from Analysis, strategy recommendation,implementation (1), evaluation, implementation (2) that will be evaluated again to revise a more effective and efficient strategy.
