Abstract

Supply chains are discrete-event systems. One of the tools to model discrete-event systems is Petri nets. Over the years, research regarding supply chain management that uses Petri nets has been plenty. This paper presents a review of the recent literature (from the past five years (2019 - 2023)) to give an insight into this research topic and, in the end, proposes a research direction for future researchers. These directions are (1) Petri nets application for risk management in supply chain management, (2) Petri nets modeling for multi-objective supply chain, and (3) Petri nets application in green supply chain management.
