Abstract

The objective of this paper is to carry out the performance test of the Unmanned Surface Vehicle Model (USVM) for the purpose to marine observation objects. The USVM was developed using semi-planing hull models with the dimension is length overall 1.5 meters, breadth 0.4 meters, height 0.3 meters, and draught 0.06 meters. The USVM is controlled with a short-range and long-range control system using a wireless internet network. Performance tests that have been carried out include ship propulsion tests, maneuver tests and control system tests. The results show that the USVM can operate with good performance to observe a marine object with a maximum operation time is 25 minutes using a long-range control system.
