Abstract

Introduction: The development of health technology at a high speed without being accompanied by the addition of sufficient resources, forces health practitioners to choose the most cost-effective technology. Health Technology Assessment (CAR) by the CAR committee in Indonesia is currently only available at the center, but not all results from this center can be applied in every hospital. Although it has been done abroad for a long time, there are no standard rules for implementing this hospital-based CAR. The implementation of CAR in a hospital can use the model that is deemed most suitable for the hospital. Methods: This article is a literature review that assesses previously published articles using the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis) method. Results: There is no standard method that can be applied in each hospital to carry out hospital-based CAR. Hospitals can develop their own from existing models to be able to carry out the most suitable CAR. Conclusion: This study concludes that in order to be able to do a good hospital-based CAR, each hospital must develop a method that is most suitable for the hospital situation. It will be very difficult to adopt exactly the national CAR, especially for hospitals that are far from where the CAR is done.
