Pembangunan Sosial Pedesaan Melalui Pemanfaatan Teknologi Informasi Dan Komunikasi ( Tik )

The rapid development of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) should be able to become an opportunity in social development. Appropiate utilization of ICTs can be a key in economic growth, social development, and empowerment of disadvantaged people. However, acquiring ICTs is not always gives a positive impact, infrastructure development on ICT is still not able to touch the whole layer of society, and also the utilization of ICT can also increase inequality in accessing social network and social capital that will impact on the greater inequality of disadvantaged people so that social development is distorted. A village in Central Java, precisely in Desa Kaliabu, Salaman, Magelang become a village that utilizes ICT. Using qualitative study, this research looked at the utilization of ICT in Desa Kaliabu and its implementation with social development in rural area. Utilization of ICT through the logo desainer work can improve the social status of rural communities, strengthen religious communities, area and families, and also able to reduce the number of criminals. Appropriate utilization of ICT can promote social development.
