Abstract

Ultra-wide band (UWB) technology considered as a solution in wireless communication to revolutionize high data rate transmissions. A microstrip monopole antenna with modified Y-shape patch is proposed in this paper, which operates at frequency 3.1-10.6 GHz with Reflection coefficient ≤ -10 dB. Proposed antenna has physical dimension of 24 × 25 × 1.6 mm and considered compact for certain wireless communication equipment. The proposed antenna has bandwidth from 3.03 GHz to 11.02 GHz. Resonant frequency at 7.3 GHz with reflection coefficient of -29.69 dB. The measurement result of proposed antenna shows that it operates at frequency 2.7-11.05 GHz.
