Abstract

A X-band microstrip antenna design with dual linear polarization is discussed in this paper. The antenna design uses CST (Computer Simulation Technology) microwave studio software and is designed to work at 9.4 GHz frequency center. The simulation results show the antenna impedance bandwidth at return loss ≤-10 dB is 196 MHz, which is from 9.299 to 9.495 GHz. The antenna has dual polarization, vertical and horizontal polarization. The simulation results also show the Half Power Beamwidth (HPBW) is 18.6° and 10.8° at phi equal to 0° and phi equal to 90°, respectively. Meanwhile, the antenna gain is obtained at 10.47 dB. The measurement results of the Return Loss, frequency center is at 9.318 GHz, with the Bandwidth of 254 MHz, which is from 9.233 to 9.487 GHz.
