Abstract

Gastric tumor is one of the leading causes of death, so early detection is essential to reduce the mortality rate caused by this tumor. There are several ways to detect a gastric tumor, one of them is an endoscopy. This paper presents a design of endoscopy system application controlled by the raspberry-based system. The system utilizes a camera that connected by a cable to the raspberry pi as a mini processor. An object suspected of a gastric cancer is placed inside a gel phantom emulating a human stomach, which is fabricated with 2/3 muscle tissue model. The targeted object can be well displayed in real time on the PC or gadget that is connected to the raspberry-based router. From the measured results, the maximum distance that the device can connect to the wireless endoscopy system is approximately at 20 m in the indoor environment within WiFi coverage area.
