N2 - This study seeks to delineate progression and authorship and institutional productivity in the field of library and information science (LIS) across Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Thailand from 2011 to 2021. Utilizing a bibliometric approach, the research analyzes bibliometric performance based on data procured from the Library, Information Science & Technology Abstracts (LISTA) database as of November 2022. Among the four countries, Malaysia leads in LIS research development, succeeded by Indonesia, Thailand, and the Philippines, respectively. All countries share a common predominant theme—information science research, though each country showcases different primary sub-themes. For instance, in Indonesia, the LIS realm is primarily driven by scholars from computer science, industrial engineering, and electrical engineering disciplines. Some researchers from the library science discipline are productive, albeit not dominant. The findings of this study are instrumental in enhancing the scientific framework in LIS in the four countries examined.
