Abstract
Knowledge is a collection of related and interpreted information to make decisions and then lead to one's actions. It arises along with the information that a person gets from both the media and the conversation around them. This research uses literature study method by comparing previous researches where the first research explains the influence of media exposure on the attitude, the influence of media literacy on attitude and the influence of media exposure toward media literacy in strengthening or weakening one's attitude. While the second research explains the relationship between attitude and antecedents factors behind these attitudes as wellas the relationship of attitude and media consumption that ultimately shape one's knowledge. The results of this study are (1)Someone acts in certain way because of the causal factors, they are social identity, personal interests and values around him/her. (2) The attitude is significantly related to his/her knowledge because one will look for all means to meet his/her need of information in order to 'know'. (3) Media consumption has significantly been proven to be related to knowledge, as it adds information. (4) Media literacy is influenced by media exposure. And (5) Media literacy influences one's attitude, because the attitude of the society individually is influenced by the process of thinking in interpreting the message of the media. These results helps undermine the judgment that the personal interests, social identity and values of a person in society have no effect on attitudes. While the attitudes and consumption of media strongly support the increase of one's knowledge about an issue.
