Lingualized occlusion in a complete denture patient with a low edentulous ridge

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingChapterpeer-review

Abstract

Occlusion greatly influences the outcome of any prosthodontic treatment in which premature contact can create an unstable denture. Ideal tooth arrangement will maximize the stability, comfort, function, and esthetics of dentures. The lingualized occlusal scheme is a treatment that reduces the functional load in case of severe alveolar bone resorption. This case report describes the treatment of complete acrylic dentures using the lingualized occlusal scheme in a patient with a severely resorbed edentulous ridge.
