Abstract

Communication and data transfer demands are growing fast in last few decades. In order to obtain higher data transfer, it is necessary to determine proper antenna placement in a wireless system. In this paper, we research propagation in tropical environment and L-Band frequency by conducting distance and high variation measurement at frequency 1.8 GHz and 2.4 GHz. The received power level decreases as the distance increases. Some discrepancies come from obstacles around the measurement set up. These results can contribute to find out the maximum channel capacity by considering an optimum antenna configuration based on received power levels.
